Have y'all tried these?! They were handing out samples at Publix the other day. Microwave them for like 6-7 seconds and toss them in with some vanilla ice cream. Soooo good!

I really love Becky's Instagram and really want to do a monogram like this in my daughter's room. It looks super simple!

I want every color of these J.Crew Linen Boatneck Tees.

Belated Weekend Update

My mom came up this weekend since it was a holiday for the kids on Monday.
My husband had to work Valentine's Day so my mom and I just hung out with the kids and did dinner at Newk's followed by some Target and Palmetto Moon shopping.

On Sunday we went to a Stingrays game. They won 3-2 which was pretty exciting.
There was one little fight during the 3rd period.  I know a lot of people go because they want to see fights but since I play, and have refereed games, I am not a fan of the fights... Just play the game!
I should've taken a picture of it but they sell these amazing fresh donut bites at the Coliseum. Holy crap, they are so good! Def getting them again next time!

If you live in the Charleston area, please go support the Stingrays!!! They have so many great promotions that make it a really inexpensive date night or family outing!
(No, I'm not getting paid to say that, I just love the sport and hope they never have to leave this area. A recent news article discussed how they never make money so it's certainly a possibility that the franchise could fold or be moved).

My mom headed back home yesterday but not before making a stop with us at our favorite breakfast spot, Charleston Bakery and Deli.
Husband insisted on giving a thumbs up in this pic because it went on Facebook first for our friend back in TX who ate here with us every day he was in town... and now calls us names every time we check in to eat there because he's jealous.

I was also lucky to have been chosen by Influenster to receive a complimentary sample of Calvin Klein REVEAL men's cologne to review.
The sample came with a Calvin Klein ID/credit card holder with Charlie Hunnam's hot face attached (oh, and Doutzen Kroes is on there too).

So my thoughts?

REVEAL smells really good. It has notes of crystallized ginger, raw salt and vetiver (Wth is that you ask? It is similar to patchouli with a touch of lemon (I googled)). So it passed the wife test, but what about the husband test?  He really likes it too and it smells good on him which is the most important thing. It's funny how some scents change once sprayed onto people but I didn't notice it change on my husband.
Have you smelled REVEAL?  What do you think?

I finally had the chance to attend a Charleston Blogger Society event this past week. It was so awesome getting to meet ladies in the area and I look forward to attending more events in the future!

Are you watching American Idol?  Daniel Seavey is one of my favs. You can tell how much J.Lo loves him too.  There are several others that are really good.  Who are your front runners?

I don't know what has happened to my skin but lately my legs have been super itchy. This has been a lifesaver. What lotions do you use during the winter to combat dryness?

#FrostyVoxBox Review

I received a complimentary Frosty VoxBox from Influenster
a month or so ago filled with all kinds of goodies.
The  Frosty VoxBox contained:
1. Fruit Vines Bites
2. EcoTools hairbrush
3. McCormick Thyme
4. Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane green tee
5. NYC Expert Last lip color in Sugar Plum
6. Rimmel kohl eyeliner and makeup remover
7. Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Serum

So here is what I thought:
I'm not a huge fan of licorice so I was a little hesitant to try the fruit bites, but they are actually very good. I would certainly purchase them on my own.
I must confess that I don't own a brush. I just use a comb and keep my hurr straightened with a flat iron. I used the brush and was surprised that it managed to get through my thick hair and didn't create any frizz.

I had to laugh a little when I saw the bottle of thyme. I am so not a cook but it just so happened that my mom was in town when I got the voxbox so she put the thyme to good use on some chicken. It tasted great. You can't go wrong with McCormick spices.

Another confession: I don't like tea. Mom to the rescue again because she tried the Celestial Seasonings tea and loved it. I did smell it and it had a nice peppermint aroma :)

The first thing I noticed about the NYC lip color was that it didn't smell gross. You know how some lipsticks have that funky lipstick smell? Not this one. The lipstick went on smoothly and there was no gritty feeling on my lips. The color was really nice - basically a shinier, sightly darker version of my regular lip color.

The Rimmel liner went on smoothly and removed easily with the provided remover. I always worry with stuff around my eyes that it will irritate it (I have major year-round allergies) but this didn't. I will def use it again!

The Boots  brand is apparently the UK's #1 selling skin line. The No7 Protect & Perfect Serum didn't dry out my skin but I only got a small packet so continued daily use might have proved otherwise. The jury is really still out on this product. I did read that it can make your skin sensitive to the sun though so it's probably not something I would use in the future.

Did you get a Frosty VoxBox?  If so, let me know, I'd love to read your review!

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

five on friday

one.

Bravo released a trailer for Southern Charm the other day. There are a lot of people here in Charleston that hate the show, but I am not one of them! HA! There is way more drama than Housewives and I get to find out about local restaurants that I've never been to.  Last season they went to one of our favs, Taco Boy, which was super exciting.
You can check out the trailer for season two here.

two.

Obsessed with this new Simply Southern shirt I got at Palmetto Moon the other day.

three.

Back in November, I won a $25 credit to Made by Maru on Auteur Ariel blog. I finally got around to ordering these White Opal Studs the other day.  Opal is my birthstone so I was pretty happy to find these. Also, super fast shipping!

four.

My son has been playing Mario Kart 8 a lot lately.  He finally talked me into playing by letting me use the game pad (I can't play with the little remote...I'm all crashing into walls and stuff)....and now I'm obsessed.  I sat and played for an hour yesterday while the kids were at school. My son couldn't figure out why his rating had jumped up to 1609... because Mom is awesome and kept getting first place while you were gone. Mom is also incredibly humble. ;)

five.

I finally caught my girl Bailey sitting in my son's booster seat again. Look how big she is! She weighed 27 lbs when we adopted her and now she's up to 55+.  I never wanted a big hairy dog but I loves her so much.

Hope y'all have a great week!

I'm linking up today for 5 on Friday with darci. april, christina, and natasha!

The Bachelor, Ep. 5

This is a couple of days late buuut can we just talk about Episode 5 of The Bachelor, please?!
First of all, I really like Chris. A much better Bachelor than Juan Pablo (I stopped watching his season after the first couple of episodes).
I kind of felt bad for him watching this episode because he seemed to be getting played by some very manipulative girls but first, let's talk about his one-on-one with Carly.

Most.awkward.thing.ever.

That is all I got. We just sat there with our mouths wide open, looking at each other and going WTH?! Ha.
Also, did you know Carly is Zach's sister from Des' season?

Jordan tried to come back in this episode and Ashley got all Regina George about it. Whitney's reaction made me really like her (though I already liked her after the wedding crashing).

Britt got all emotional when the other girl read her date card about the sky being the limit because of her fear of heights...but then was all smiley and skipping when she saw that they were going on a hot air balloon.  Did anyone else call BS on this? I know people with fear of heights and they can't even get on a plane without being sedated.
I liked how they showed clips of the girls talking about Britt wanting to be single and not wanting kids...and then showed Britt telling Chris how she wants 100 kids.  Why would you lie?  Oh, right, because you want to be famous.

The end of the episode dealt with widow Kelsey who said her story (the one of her husband dying while walking to work in 2013) was amazing and that she loved her story. If you don't watch this show, please find a clip of her saying this.  Her facial expressions are disturbing.  I also find it creepy how she could tell her story to some of the girls without shedding a tear but then was all kinds of emotional telling Chris.

Poor Chris. I hope he figures these girls out before it is too late!

What did you think about the episode?

Game Day! #GoPats

After two long weeks of hearing about deflated balls, we can finally get to what is really important: THE GAME.
My son and I just got back from picking up Patriots balloons and cupcakes. We are decked out in our Patriots gear and SO ready for 6:30 pm to roll around.
We've been pre-gaming by eating hot dogs and throwing the football around out back (hello, it is supposed to be 66 here today!!).

Who are you rooting for today?! Or are you all about half-time and the commercials? Or are you staying far away from any TV with the game on?! HA!

Hope y'all have a great Sunday!
