Anyways.  I thought I'd put up a quick post today to share some of my favorite gals on Instagram!  If you'd like to follow me too, click here!!
 Emily from Big Star Studios

Ashley from The Teacher Diva

Kelly from Honor, Courage, Commitment

Sorry for the short post and lack of pics!
Hope y'all are doing well.
I'm trying to keep up with everyone...mainly via Instagram until I can get back up and running on the 30th.

Model Home Tour

A couple of weeks ago, I took a little tour of a model home down in Florida. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen one of the pics here.
I loooove walking through model homes.  It's like walking through a magazine lay-out.  Everything is so perfect and I get so many great ideas for my first house (we close Wednesday!!).
Here are some more pics of the house:

I definitely need a mirror like that
And I want some fun, patterned curtains

I like this easy headboard for a boy's room
My daughter was dying over this room

I was loving the colors of this room

Do you ever tour model homes for ideas or do you stick to Pinterest, other blogs and magazines for inspiration (I do all of the above)?!

Rembering Kidd Kraddick

Shortly before bedtime last night, I started hearing word that radio and TV personality Kidd Kraddick had passed away.  I immediately thought, "This has to be a joke".  Sadly, it was not.

I moved to TX in the 8th grade, waaaay back in the early 90s.  I listened to Kidd Kraddick every morning on the way to school.  Later, when I had my own kids, we would listen together every morning.

We moved from TX a few years ago and were so excited when we found out the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning show was broadcasted in Savannah, GA.  We listened every morning in the car and I usually would listen more once I got home via the I Heart Radio app.

My story is pretty much the same as anyone else's...  Over the years, we have come to think of Kidd (Kellie, J-Si, Jenna, and Big Al) as our friends.  We feel like we know a lot about them.  Today I remember Kidd as an amazing father to Caroline and a champion of kids, military members and families in need.  I pray for his daughter, radio family, friends, and listeners.

Our mornings won't be the same without you, Kidd.

Rest in Peace.

Jacksonville Trip

Last week I took my kids down to visit family in FL and stayed for a few days before coming back home to SC.

It was raining so we walked around the grounds a little bit and checked out some of the animals outside. Nice place and inexpensive!

The next day we went to The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. You can't take pictures inside the galleries, so all I got to document were the gardens, which were stunning.
Nice view of downtown from the edge of the gardens

We also went to an interesting restaurant called Clark's Fish Camp.
There were dead animals all over the place:
I had the mahi basket which was pretty good.  I ate it all though before I thought about taking a picture of it ;)

While the kids stayed in FL, I went home and hung out with my husband for a few days.  We were able to go see a movie, which never happens!!  We saw The Heat which was really funny.

I wore this super cute Luxe Craving necklace (c/o) for my day date with the hubs.
Btw, I am loving that the Instagram filter turned my hair red.  I totally want to dye it that color now!

Anyone know of any other fun places to visit in JAX for my next trip down there??

Lately and Wednesday Wants

It's been awhile...
We *finally* found a house.  The home inspection is tomorrow and we hope to close in mid-August.  I have been busy getting e-mails off to the loan officer. I have never scanned so many papers in my life, y'all.

Now that I am trying not to shop for anything, I reallly want to buy stuff!!

Here are some things I'm wanting for the new house and for me!!

Btw, Letters from a Mermaid is giving away a dress (winner picks) on her blog. Ends in three days so head on over there.

Cute, right?!

Anyone watch Catfish on MTV last night?  Such a guilty pleasure.  I really am convinced it's all fake.  What do y'all think??

Every Song a Memory

I don't know about y'all, but music has always been a big part of my life.  I have always loved listening to the lyrics of songs and often times associate certain songs with things from my past.

When I was in college, one of my roommates would always play this when her boyfriend was over.
I love some Sarah, but hearing her CDs over and over again with the muffled sounds of sexy time, got old real quick.  To this day when I hear this song, I think of Jess and Ryan.

Two years before I got married, I had a brief whirlwind of a relationship that was really doomed from day one. I remember the guy calling me one night telling me to hurry to a radio station to listen to the Randy Rogers Band song.  The Kid Rock one happened to be on the radio only when we were with each other.  They both quickly became "our songs".It actually took me awhile to be able to listen to these songs again but they are just so good that I couldn't let the past relationship ruin them!
Randy Rogers Band "In My Arms Instead"

and

Kid Rock's "All Summer Long"

When I was 20 I moved to TN and left behind a sort-of boyfriend.  He called me one day and said he couldn't stop listening to this song:
At the time I'd left Dallas for TN so this song by Alan Jackson ("Dallas") was very fitting.

My freshman year of college was spent in Canada.  I was introduced to all sorts of music I'd never heard of before.  I listened a lot to Portishead and Ani DiFranco...especially these two songs:
"Wandering Star" by Portishead

"Untouchable Face" by Ani DiFranco

There are so many others songs that remind me of different times in my life and I always love hearing them because it just brings the memories flooding back...  What are some songs that bring back memories for you?!

I workout...

Not so much actually.  My workouts are currently limited to walking up/down the three flights of stairs to our temporary apt.  I have considered getting into running though.  In Charleston, there are always 5Ks and more nearly every weekend...seems like it would be something my husband and I could do together too.

These super cute tanks from etsy shop Ruffles With Love might give me a little extra motivation to start working out more.
 Cute, right?!

Meredith over at Is This Thing On? is currently having a giveaway for a tank of your choice on her blog...ends Sunday, June 9th at midnight so head over and enter! :)

{I do not get extra entries for mentioning this giveaway on my blog...I just think these tanks are so bad ass that I wanted to share}
